When Ford introduced the Bronco in 1965, off-road racing was a logical way to promote the truck. Broncos have been used in connection with Bill Stroppe races in Baja 500 and Mexican 1000 races. And after winning those two events, Ford offered specially designed Baja Broncos in 1971 that were only available at select dealerships.
