The SS 396, which was characterised by its special "ice tray" style bonnet, could be ordered with a 375 hp top-of-the-range version of the 396 c.i. engine. Only 311 vehicles were produced with this particular L89 engine. The 1969 Camaro was voted the best Chevy of all time by Chevy owners. Even today, the current version of the Camaro® reflects the styling of the famous '69 car.
