Background information:

The Avro Lancaster was not just any bomber, it was a symbol of British resistance during World War 2. Over 7,300 of these impressive aircraft were produced for the Royal Air Force Bomber Command. A particular highlight of their missions was Operation Chastise, which attacked the Ruhr Valley dams that supplied power to important industrial plants. Using the "bouncing bomb" specially developed for this attack, the 617th Squadron, under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Guy Gibson, successfully destroyed two of the dams. An exciting and courageous part of history that you can now recreate with this kit. Ideal for collectors, history buffs, and anyone interested in modeling.
