Background information:

The Avro Lancaster was not just any bomber, it was a symbol of the British resistance during World War II. Over 7,300 of these impressive machines were produced for the Royal Air Force Bomber Command. A special highlight of their operations was Operation Chastise, in which the dams of the Ruhr area, which supplied important industrial plants with electricity, were attacked. With the "bouncing bomb" specially developed for this attack, the 617th Squadron under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Guy Gibson was able to successfully destroy two of the dams. An exciting and courageous part of the story, which you can now recreate with this kit. Ideal for collectors, history enthusiasts and anyone interested in model making.
