Civil aircraft: Immerse yourself in the world of aviation with Revell Modellbau

Flying has always fascinated people: taking to the skies, experiencing the world from a bird's eye view, covering long distances in a short time. Many hurdles had to be overcome before this dream finally came true - and what engineers and technicians achieve in the development and production of civil aircraft is still impressive today. Many important stages that were covered on the way to modern passenger aircraft can be vividly reproduced using the Revell models. In this way, plastic model making not only offers handicraft fun, but also documents an important part of aviation history.

Build a collection step by step

In the Revell range, interested parties will find unique aircraft types that play or have played a key role in civil aviation. The range of products ranges from two-seater gliders to jumbo jets, as the Boeing 747 is colloquially called. Until 2005, the Boeing 747 was the world's largest commercial aircraft. The jumbo is represented in several ways in the range of plastic model kits: hobbyists have the choice between models of the Boeing 747-200 in scale 1:450 or  1:390 and the all-new Boeing 747-8. All three kits have one thing in common: they reproduce the originals exactly. The surfaces are so finely designed that the recessed sheet metal joints can be seen. The landing gear, brake discs, position lights, landing lights, the APU exhaust pipe in the rear area and other components are exactly reproduced.

The Concorde is also legendary. The model of the British-French supersonic airliner should not be missing in any collection. Another important milestone is the development of the Airbus A380 . With this type, an aircraft with a continuous double deck was introduced for the first time in 2005. Every detail is accurately represented on a scale of 1:144. The rims of the 22 wheels, filigree struts and struts as well as a decal with the new Airbus décor delight the viewer.

Unique in several respects is the DH C-6 Twin Otter. This versatile aircraft is used in both the civil and military sectors. It offers optimal conditions for use as a transport, rescue or reconnaissance aircraft. The shoulder-wing aircraft with controllable pitch propellers is capable of taking off and landing on short runways. Hobbyists have the choice of equipping their DH C-6 Twin Otter with landing gear, floating pods or ski runners.

Beginner or experienced hobbyist? Revell has the right challenge for everyone

Revell makes it easy for hobbyists or parents who want to give model kits to young model builders. Each description includes a level between 1 and 5. The higher the number, the trickier the kit. Level 5 is challenging even for experienced modelers. In addition, an age recommendation helps with the selection.

Tip: Order high-quality accessories at the same time!

Good tools, high-quality glue and the right paints are important prerequisites to finish the model perfectly. If you want to start building models right away, it's best to think about the right accessories when ordering. Tweezers, precision pliers, brushes or mixing cups for paints – in the Revell online shop, the discerning hobbyist will find everything he needs for his creative leisure activity.
