From 1935 onwards, Canadian company Noorduyn produced the versatile cargo and passenger aircraft Norseman, specially adapted for regional flights. It was to guarantee a safe liaison through the air, even to the most remote areas of the country. The Norseman later drew the attention of the USAF which ordered 764 copies of the UC-64A. Starting in 1946, the Saskatchewan Air Ambulance Service used a Norseman Mk.V as a rescue plane. Depending on the mission requirements, it could be equiped with a landing gear, floats or skis. |
