The Tank Destroyer IV L/70 that first came into service with selected tank units in August 1944 soon inflicted heavy losses on the Allies, due to its long-range superiority. Despite some initial technical problems, which were quickly solved by improved parts, the Tank Destroyer IV L/70 was one of the German tanks most feared by Allied tank units.
