The Krupp Protze was a light cross-country truck that was developed by the Krupp AG from 1930. The Krupp Protze that was delivered to the German national defence forces from 1933 onwards determined the appearance of the motorised units of both the army and the air force and was very popular with the troops due to its good driving characteristics. Its sphere of operations as a personnel carrier and as a tractor for the 3.7 cm anti-tank gun extended throughout Europe as far as Africa.
